ENGLISH LITERATURE- WILLIAM SHAKESPEARE (1564- 1616) The Tempest
The Tempest
(circa 1611) is one of Shakespeare’s latest plays and it is now regarded as one
of Shakespeare’s greatest works. It can be considered a comedy with some dark
elements. It presents a variety of fascinating characters, of whom we can
certainly highlight Prospero,
with
his memorable final speech, his magic and his books. The play reflects
the language of Shakespeare's time, to which he was himself a great
contributor.
